Updating the Software (v1.2.4)

*Note: to save time, we’re simply reusing some of the screenshots from the instructions for the previous update v1.2.0. You should be seeing v1.2.4 instead of v1.2.0 on your machine.

1. Click on “File Manager“ located on the top left of the screen.

2. Navigate to the folder “/home/pi/Boarditto/app“

3. Download the software update file (in .zip format) from the link we sent via email. Save this zip file into a USB drive and plug it into the back of the machine. Open the folder containing the zip file.

4. Drag the zip file into the folder “/home/pi/Boarditto/app“.

5. When done copying, you can close the window for your USB drive since you won’t need it anymore.

6. Right-click on the zip file “boarditto_1_2_4.zip” and click on the option “Extract here“.

7. After file extraction is complete, move the zip file “boarditto_1_2_4.zip” to the trash can.

8. Drag the file with the green icon “Boarditto 1.2.4.desktop“ into the desktop as shown in the next two images.

You’re almost ready.

9. Close the window and open the “Terminal” program.

10. Inside the “Terminal” program, type in the following command exactly as follows:

chmod 755 Boarditto/app/Boarditto_1_2_4/boarditto_1_2_4

Note: It is case sensitive. Make sure it’s typed exactly to the letter.

11. Press enter. Then, close the “Terminal“ program.

That’s all there is to it.

Double-click the icon “Boarditto 1.2.4“ and click “Execute“ to run the newly updated Boarditto Software. It takes around 30 seconds to launch the program.

Note: The older version is still available on the desktop in case you still need it.
