Set Up Pick (Automatic Feeders)

  1. Click on “Set Up Pick” from the main menu.

2. Load components into your automatic feeders and insert them into the machine. Then, click “Scan Automatic Feeders“ to update the list of available automatic feeders.

3. Select a feeder from the list and click “Edit Feeder“.

4. Select the component tape pitch you’re working with from the “Feed Pitch” drop-down list.

Note: the “Half Pitch” feature hasn’t been enabled yet and will be included in a future software update. You can use a manual feeder to feed 0402 components for now until the feature is enabled for automatic feeders.

5. Click “Select From Library”.

6. Select the component and component value you want to assign to your automatic feeder. Click “Select“.

7. Once a library has been assigned to your feeder, click “Learn Pick Location”.

8. Jog the crosshairs until the automatic feeder’s fiducial is located within the blue box.

9. Click “Find Center” to find the center of the fiducial. Click “Save Position”.

10. Jog the crosshairs until it’s centered with the tape cavity of the component you want to pick up.

11. You may enter the number of components left in the “Qty Remaining” field to keep track of stock.

12. Click “Calibrate Automatic Feeders” for the machine to automatically find the center of the automatic feeder’s fiducial.

13. Click “Add” and then “Select From Library”.

14. Select the component and component value you want to use for your job. Click “Select“.

When you’re done, you’ll see the automatic feeder with the assigned component on the right and the chosen component for your job on the left. The “Port/Feeder ID” field will display the Port and Feeder ID numbers of the automatic feeder that has been assigned the chosen component.

If no automatic feeder is detected, the “Port/Feeder ID” field will display the words “Not found”.
